SALT LAKE CITY – Two University of Utah faculty members have been named fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the world’s largest scientific society and publisher of the journal Science. They are Lynn Jorde, professor and chair of human genetics, and Janis Louie, an associate professor of chemistry.

Election as an AAAS fellow is an honor bestowed upon association members by their peers. Jorde and Louie are among 702 association members awarded the honor this year because of their scientifically or socially distinguished efforts to advance science or its applications.
